That Further Step

What matters, what Heaven desires and Hell fears, is precisely that further step, out of our depth, out of our own control. C.S. Lewis

Taking that step out of our control is the whole point, I think. I’m, of course, not saying throw all caution to the wind and live like a maniac. I’m talking about living right in that area where faith is required to take that one further step. You know that step, right? It takes a million different forms...

• Saying, “I’m sorry.” (And actually meaning it).
• Walking away.
• Letting go.
• Staying.
• Choosing to not to listen to the voices in your head clamoring for control.
• Owning up to an issue.
• Saying, “I forgive you.”
• Deciding not to play ‘the victim’ anymore.
• Most of all when in those quite times God whispers, “Will you trust me?”

Luke 9:57-62(The Message)
57On the road someone asked if he could go along. "I'll go with you, wherever," he said.
58Jesus was curt: "Are you ready to rough it? We're not staying in the best inns, you know."
Jesus said to another, "Follow me."
59He said, "Certainly, but first excuse me for a couple of days, please. I have to make arrangements for my father's funeral."
60Jesus refused. "First things first. Your business is life, not death. And life is urgent: Announce God's kingdom!"
61Then another said, "I'm ready to follow you, Master, but first excuse me while I get things straightened out at home."
62Jesus said, "No procrastination. No backward looks. You can't put God's kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day."

Watchman Nee described the question of the universe being, “Who will have control?”

Comfortable, don't get comfortable.
I am gonna' move this mountain then I'm gonna move you in.

Yesterday, this is not yesterday.
You were standing on my shoulders now; you're standing on the edge.
You've been looking for a sign all this time.

"Dont get Comfortable"
